Early 19th Century Oil on Canvas

A charming oil painting of a rural scene, a lady in mob cap stands within a cottage, or possibly an inn, as she is holding a jug, probably containing ale or cider and a small tray. Outside are two gentlemen, one seated and one holding a horse, both holding long guns. In the foreground are three lurcher-type dogs.

The picture has not been “cleaned”, yet the colours remain bright and interesting. The deeply moulded frame is original.
