A Rare James I Oak Serving Table
The twin boarded top, retaining the original end cleats, sitting on frieze rails, all with corner spandrels – the front two with carved scrolls, and decorated with a deep cushion run-moulding.
The boldly-turned columnar legs are quite exceptional, and decorated with ring turnings throughout the length. The block feet are joined by chunky square stretchers.
English, probably Gloucestershire/Wiltshire borders, circa 1620-30.
